Typography began in the 15th century with the invention of the flat press by Gutenberg. Until the end of the 20th century, traditional typography used movable elements in various sizes and families (fonts) made of metal and rarely wood. These items were placed in special cases, the bookcases, and then in the press for printing.

The modern printing presses of photosynthesis are rotary. In these presses, printing is done as the paper is compressed between two rollers, one of which is covered with the embossed printing sheet. Printing is done at high speed. In addition, with four printing sheets, the rotary press can produce four colors, ie color printing with a combination of four basic colors: black, cyan, magenta and yellow.
